In New Jersey, there are two types of bingo licenses that must be obtained in order to conduct or participate in bingo: social and charitable. Social bingo licenses are for organizations that conduct bingo as part of their regular activities and charitable bingo licenses are for organizations that conduct bingo as a fundraiser.
Both types of licenses must be obtained from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE).
To obtain a social bingo license, an organization must submit an application and pay a $1,000 fee. To obtain a charitable bingo license, an organization must submit an application and pay a $5,000 fee.
Once the DGE has received the applications and fees, they will conduct a background check on the organization. If the DGE approves the application, they will issue a license to the organization.
In order to conduct or participate in bingo, an individual must have a social or charitable bingo license from the DGE. To obtain a social bingo license, an individual must have at least 18 years old and be able to provide proof of identity and residency.
To obtain a charitable bingo license, an individual must have at least 21 years old and be able to provide proof of identity and residency.
