Hobby Lobby, an American retail chain, has been in the news a lot lately for their legal battle with the federal government over the Affordable Care Act’s contraception mandate. The company has been protesting this mandate by citing their religious beliefs, and in turn have been denied many government contracts.
One of the products that Hobby Lobby has been denied from providing to their employees is bingo supplies. In a statement released to ABC News, Hobby Lobby said “We do not believe that providing these items and services contributes to our mission or supports our religious beliefs.
” However, some employees at the company do still believe that bingo supplies are appropriate for use at work.
Some people have taken to social media to voice their opinions on Hobby Lobby’s stance on bingo supplies. Some argue that it is not appropriate for a company with religious beliefs to refuse to provide these supplies to its employees, while others feel that Hobby Lobby should be able to make their own decisions about what they believe and how they want to run their business.
Ultimately, it is up to each individual store whether or not they will carry bingo supplies.
