Duck and Dive is a popular bingo game where players are asked to mark off numbers in a certain order on their bingo card. The first player to finish their card wins the game.
Players start by putting a dollar value in the box next to the number they want to mark off. Then, they draw two cards. On the first card, they will see a number and a letter.
The number tells them how many spaces they need to move their marker down the column on their bingo card in order to put the letter in its corresponding box. For example, if the player sees the number 9 and the letter A on their first card, they would need to move their marker down three spaces on their bingo card in order to put A in its box. .
The second card is usually either a letter or a numeral. This tells them what kind of symbol they will be looking for on their next turn.
If they draw a letter, they will need to mark off any number that begins with that letter from their column on their bingo card. For example, if they draw the letter H and see 2-6-8-10 on their second card, they would need to mark off 2, 6, 8 and 10 from their column on their bingo card in order to get to H and put it in its corresponding box.
If they draw a numeral, they will need to mark off any number that corresponds with it from either of their two columns on their bingo card. For example, if they draw the number 5 and see 4-7-9 on their second card, they would need to mark off 4, 7 and 9 from both of those columns in order to get to 5 and put it in its corresponding box.
Once both players have finished marking off all of the numbers from both of their columns on their cards, they can combine those symbols together into one big symbol called a “duck” or “dive”. If they draw a duck symbol, that means that all of the numbers drawn together make up one big number (for example: 2-5-8).
If they draw a dive symbol, that means that each individual number drawn makes up one big number (for example: 2-4-6-8).
The first player to get all of their ducks or dives marked off wins the game!.
