Bingo Bluey is a 2-year-old Australian Cattle Dog who, since she was a puppy, has been labeled as a boy. But Bingo’s mom, Tania, and her husband, Matty, have always known that Bingo is really a girl.
Tania told reporters at a news conference that Bingo “has always been very girly” and has always loved wearing dresses and skirts. So when Bingo was born, Tania and Matty knew that they had to do something about her gender identity.
Tania said that they consulted with doctors and psychologists who all agreed that Bingo should be allowed to live as the girl she truly is. So they started calling her Bingo Bluey and started using female pronouns.
Bingo’s story is an important one because it shows that there is no wrong way to be transgender. Tania says that she hopes her story will help other transgender kids feel not alone and help them understand that they are just like everyone else.
