Multiplication Bingo is a fun activity that children and adults can enjoy. The object of the game is to find all of the multiplications in a given row or column, and then mark off the squares corresponding to the correct answers.
The player with the most squares marked off at the end of the game wins.
To play, divide a sheet of paper into 9 squares by drawing a line down the middle. Place a number 1 through 9 in each square, and then set the sheet aside. Each player takes turns drawing a number from either a bag or a hat. If they draw a number that is already present on the sheet, they can pass, or they can try to find the multiplication associated with that number.
For example, if someone drAWS the number 3 and there is already a 3 in square 3, they can try to find the multiplication associated with 3 (3x), 4 (4x), or 5 (5x). If they can’t find an answer, they can draw another number from their bag or hat and continue playing.
Once someone has drawn a number, they place a check mark in the square next to it corresponding to the answer they found. If two or more players have the same number checked off in a particular square, that square is turned over and play moves on to the next square. Play continues until one player has successfully marked off all of the squares on their sheet, at which point they win!
Multiplication Bingo can be played as an individual activity, as part of a team game, or as part of an educational activity focused on problem solving and critical thinking skills. It is also great for developing hand-eye coordination skills as players need to be quick and accurate in their marking off of squares.
