Is Bingo Gambling?
There is no definitive answer to this question as it largely depends on the definition of “bingo” that is being used. Generally, if bingo is simply a game of chance in which players pull cards from a hat or box, then it likely is not considered gambling.
However, if bingo is considered a form of gambling where players bet on the outcome of specific cards or numbers, then it may be classed as such.
Generally, bingo games are not considered to be gambling activities if all players have an equal chance of winning and no money is exchanged between players. In some cases, however, bingo games may be classed as gambling activities if money is exchanged between players in order to increase their chances of winning.
In general, though, it is best to consult with an attorney or tax specialist if you are unsure whether or not your particular bingo game qualifies as gambling.
